The airport hosts national passenger carrier, Kulula and it is expected that in future, more passenger carriers will avail of the airport’s services.  Currently 300 000 passengers depart from the airport annually, and this is expected to total 7 million in 2017, while the current 1100 flights per annum  will rise to 4000 in 2017.

The Node

Cradle City is located in Africa’s fastest growing regional economy, generating more than 10% of Africa’s GDP.  The development is aligned with the government’s Gauteng growth and development strategy’.

Its highly strategic location surrounds Lanseria International Airport, Gauteng’s second international airport. The development is in a designated major economic growth node of Gauteng’s northern western corridor and located within the urban edge.

Significant existing infrastructure provides good accessibility, with major new road and public transport infrastructure planned for the future.

The area is internationally well-known for its reserve and heritage status and is called ‘The Cradle of Humankind’. Cradle City is located nearby tourism venues and conservation areas.
